Pima Leadership Institute

Build and enhance your leadership skills with the Pima Leadership Institute– a series of courses and programs designed to provide you diverse perspectives, engaging service-learning experiences, and skills to lead with integrity.

Speak to your Student Life Coordinator to learn about leadership opportunities for students at Pima.

Emerging leaders program

Part of the Pima Leadership Institute, this program highlights skills for student success and will help you identify your strengths. This is a free workshop and is required for students who are planning to transfer into the BlueChip leadership program at the University of Arizona.

In this workshop, you’ll explore topics such as time management, public speaking, goal setting, group dynamics, health and wellness, and change management.

J.A.D.E. program

J.A.D.E. stands for Justice, Advocacy, Dialog, and Empowerment. This retreat is for students who already have a foundation in leadership skills. You’ll spend three days and two nights at an off-campus location, typically in the Santa Catalina Mountains.

The retreat covers topics such as social justice, power and privilege, empowering others, and taking action. Interested students must apply and interview to be accepted.

Aztec Gold program

If you’ve already attended one of the above programs, or if you have advanced leadership skills from other experiences, you may be interested in Aztec Gold. Here you will expand on the skills you’ve gained by learning leadership theory and how you can apply it to social change projects.
