English Concentration

Associate of Arts

You supply the passion for the written word. Our faculty will provide the training and guidance so you can craft writing that makes a real difference to your audience, whether through poetry, novels, nonfiction, literary criticism or persuasive argument.

To use a metaphor: With our instructors’ help, Pima Writing students hit the ball hard, while keeping it on the court.

Also, in our classes, you will become aware of the historical, moral and cultural factors underlying human communication, and learn how to with people whose culture and background may be different that yours. In other words, you’ll learn the first rule of good writing: Know your audience.
